Nov 6 (Reuters) - Labopharm Inc (DDS.TO) (DDSS.O) posted a wider quarterly loss, as the Canadian drugmaker earned lower licensing revenue from its once-daily tramadol pain treatment and said it would cut about 35 jobs under plan to streamline operations.
For the third quarter, the company reported loss of C$6.9 million, or 12 Canadian cents a share, compared with loss of C$6 million, or 11 Canadian cents a share, a year ago.
Total revenue fell 30 percent to C$6.6 million. The company had reported total revenue of C$9.4 million a year ago, which included non-recurring licensing revenue of C$4.4 million.
Labopharm's licensing revenue, which includes payments received from licensing and distribution partners for its once-daily tramadol pain treatment fell 78 percent to C$1.2 million.
