UPDATE 1-Ceres gets 2 mln stg from British Gas

June 30 (Reuters) - Alternative-energy company Ceres Power Holdings Plc (CWR.L) said on Tuesday it received 2 million pounds from British Gas, and that it expected net cash and short-term investments of at least 22 million pounds for its financial year ending June.

Ceres Power said the payment from British Gas was for designing, building and testing several 1 kilowatt grid-connected Combined Heat and Power (CHP) products.

At 0821 GMT, Ceres Power shares were down 0.5 percent at 193 pence on the London Stock Exchange. They rose 1.5 percent earlier in the session. ($1=.6013 Pound) (Reporting by Austin Lobo in Bangalore; Editing by Anne Pallivathuckal)
