India Ranbaxy says gets FDA nod for allergy drug

MUMBAI, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd (RANB.BO), India's top drug maker by sales, said on Monday it had received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make and sell cetirizine hydrochloride tablets.

Cetirizine hydrochloride is a generic version of Pfizer Inc's (PFE.N) allergy drug Zyrtec.

Total annual market sales for cetirizine hydrochloride tablets were $1.3 billion, Ranbaxy said, citing IMS data. (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy; editing by Charlotte Cooper)
