CFE 9-month sales down, repeats outlook

BRUSSELS, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Belgian building company CFE (CFEB.BR) on Tuesday reported a 7.7 percent drop in revenues for the first nine months of 2009 and said full-year income would drop about 7 percent year-on-year.
CFE said it expected to generate revenue of slightly less than 1.6 billion euros ($2.38 billion) for the full year, confirming its August forecast for a continuation of first-half trends in the second half of the year.
CFE, 47 percent owned by France's Vinci (SGEF.PA), a group of construction companies which also holds 50 percent of dredger DEME, said 9-month revenues totalled 1.169 billion euros.
The order book at the beginning of October stood at 2.064 billion euros, down 11.3 percent from the start of the year, partly due to the cancellation of a major project at the beginning of 2009.
Orders for its construction division fell as a result of the slowing economy, but some signs of an upturn in central Europe and Luxembourg were visible, the group said.
CFE said its cash position remained well under control and net financial debt dropped to 173 million euros at the end of September from 197 million euros at the end of June 2009. (Reporting by Antonia van de Velde) ($1=.6712 Euro)
