US RATE FUTURES-See chance of more cuts from Fed
CHICAGO, April 30 (Reuters) - U.S. short-term interest rate futures rose on Wednesday after the Federal Open Market Committee trimmed benchmark U.S. rates as expected and said that it would act as needed to promote growth.
Futures imply that the Fed will hold its federal funds rate steady at 2 percent in June, but see an 18 percent chance for another rate cut, against no chance before the end of the Fed's meeting.
The FOMC statement said that uncertainty about inflation remains high, but that inflation should moderate as energy and commodity prices level out. (Reporting by Ros Krasny; Editing by James Dalgleish; )
