Explosion in a residential area in Sri Lanka capital

COLOMBO, June 4 (Reuters) - A loud explosion shook a residential area in the Sri Lankan capital on Wednesday, military sources and police said.

"There is an exposion in Wellawatta. We are investigating the incident," said an official at the police bomb disposal unit.

There were no immediate details of any injuries or damage. (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by David Fox)
