Irish voters reject EU treaty: official results

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Irish voters rejected the European Union's reform treaty, official results showed on Friday after 53.4 percent backed the pact and 46.6 percent voted against.

Final figures showed that 862,415 people voted against the bloc's plans to streamline the way it is run while 752,451 voted in favour. Turnout was 53.1 percent of the electorate.
