Fresenius says to buy Kyorin blood business
FRANKFURT, April 25 (Reuters) - Germany's Fresenius (FREG_p.DE) said on Wednesday it would buy the blood volume replacement business of Japanese pharmaceutical company Kyorin Pharmaceutical Co 4560.T for an undisclosed price.
Fresenius said in a statement that Kyorin's artificial colloids sales were 5.2 million euros ($7 million) in the fiscal year ending March 2006.
The colloids are mainly used in surgical and emergency procedures to substitute blood loss.
