-- ACB Bank ACB.HN Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien said the bank had invested about 8.47 trillion dong ($530 million) in corporate bonds and about 1.17 trillion dong ($74 million) in shares of other companies.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- Sanyo Electric (6764.T) announced a investment of $40 million in a high-tech production plant at Quang Chau Industrial Zone in the northern province of Bac Giang. It is expected to earn $300 million in export revenues by 2011.

-- The Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology said it would spend $300 million on developing high technology at Hoa Lac Park, about 30 kilometers from Hanoi.
