-- Vietnam Airlines said it has waived fuel surcharges on all domestic flights from Nov. 1 following a dip in the global oil prices.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- The State Bank of Vietnam has allowed Handico Finance Co to raise six times its capital base to 350 billion dong ($21 million).

-- Viet Thai joint venture bank would raise its registered capital to 1 trillion dong ($60.5 million), following a central bank's approval.

-- Partly private Saigon Commercial Bank said it would further cut dong deposit rates and lend more to meet corporate demand for funds.

-- Italy's biggest bank Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP.MI) has won an approval to open a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City.

-- About 50 more companies are scheduled to list on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange .VN and the Hanoi Securities Trading Center .HASTCI by the end of this year, Thanh Nien newspaper said.
