FINANCIAL NEWS:

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- My Xuyen Rural Bank has won approval from the State Securities Commission to sell shares to the public.

DAU TU CHUNG KHOAN

-- Petroleum Technical Services Joint Stock Co, PTSC PVS.HN, said it made a gross profit of 119 billion dong ($6.7 million) during the January-April period, or 30 percent of its full year target. The firm projected this year's revenue would reach 9.5 trillion dong.

-- Partly private bank SeABank forecast its gross profit this year would be 646 billion dong ($36 million) and it would raise its capital base by 25 percent to 5.07 trillion dong.

ECONOMIC AND GENERAL NEWS:

VIETNAM NEWS

-- The number of dengue fever cases in Vietnam jumped 28 percent in the first four months of 2009 compared to the same period last year to 13,000, health officials said.

TUOI TRE

-- Despite gold prices rising to nearly 20 million dong ($1,125) per tael on Tuesday, the domestic market remained idle as prices were no longer attractive for trading and the market would remain frozen in coming days, gold traders said.

-- The government has sought National Assembly approval to allow buyers or those who rent houses built for low income people to be subject to the lowest value added tax level of 5 percent.

THANH NIEN

-- Vietnam has detected cholera in five northern localities in recent days, including the capital Hanoi, while the country has yet to find any H1N1 virus infections, the Health Ministry said.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM

-- The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange .VNI said on Tuesday it will cancel the listing of Binh Trieu Construction and Engineering Co BTC.HM as of July 1 for violating the listing regulations, making it the first stock to face such punishment on Vietnam's exchange. (Reporting by Hanoi Newsroom)
