HK shares open 2.5 pct higher; resources soar

HONG KONG, May 19 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares will open 2.5 percent higher on Tuesday in a broad-based surge tracking an overnightrally on Wall Street while Chinese resources counters are set to soar on signs of a recovery in the demand for raw materials.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI was up 431.32 points at 17,454.23.

The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top mainland companies was set to start 2.9 percent higher at 10,074.73.
