HK shares open down 0.4 pct in 4th day of losses
HONG KONG, May 25 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares opened 0.4 percent lower on Monday, dropping for a fourth straight day, weighed down by the mainland bourses after China said it would resume initial public offerings as early as next month.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI was down 63.47 points at 16,999.05, while the Shanghai Composite Index .SSEC had fallen 2.1 percent in early trade.
The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top mainland companies was set to start 0.01 percent higher at 9,792.15.
