HK Hot Stocks: Oil, airlines stocks jump

HONG KONG, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Here are some stocks on the move in Hong Kong on Monday:

As of 0250 GMT, the blue-chip Hang Seng Index .HSI was up 0.88 percent at 27,611.60.

The index opened up 0.25 percent.

STOCKS ON THE MOVE:

* China's top offshore oil and gas producer CNOOC (0883.HK) jumped as much as 2.6 percent and top Asia oil and gas producer PetroChina (0857.HK) rose 1.7 percent as oil bounced above $96 on geopolitical worries.

* Top Asian oil refiner Sinopec Corp (0386.HK) (SNP.N) rose nearly 2 percent after it unveiled a plan to buy interests in three oil refineries and 63 petrol stations from its parent for a total of 3.66 billion yuan. [ID:nPEK204312]

* China Eastern (0670.HK) jumped more than 6 percent and Air China (0753.HK) jumped as much as 3.7 percent after sources told Reuters on Friday that Air China's chairman had been appointed chief of China's civil aviation regulator. The news comes ahead of a vote on Jan. 8 by China Eastern (0670.HK) shareholders -- which include the parent of Air China -- on a deal by Singapore Airlines (SIAL.SI) and Temasek Holdings to buy a 24 percent stake in China Eastern (600115.SS) for about US$920 million.

Li told Reuters in October he did not rule out using Air China's position as a major holder of China Eastern's Hong Kong-listed shares to vote against the agreed purchase.

* Newly listed Vietnam Manufacturing & Export Processing Ltd (0422.HK) jumped more than 4 percent. (Reporting by Judy Hua; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
