HK Hot Stocks: gold, oil stocks jump
HONG KONG, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Here are some stocks on the move in Hong Kong on Friday:
As of 0236 GMT, the blue-chip Hang Seng Index .HSI was up 0.72 percent at 27,080.79.
The index opened up 0.44 percent.
STOCKS ON THE MOVE:
* Lingbao Gold (3330.HK) soared more than 13 percent and Zijin Mining (2899.HK) jumped nearly 5 percent as gold prices clung to near-record highs, supported by high energy prices and a weak dollar.
* China's top offshore oil and gas producer CNOOC (0883.HK) jumped as much as 3.8 percent and top Asia oil and gas producer PetroChina (0857.HK) rose 2 percent as crude prices hovered just below $100 a barrel.
* Top Asian oil refiner Sinopec Corp (0386.HK) (SNP.N) jumped as much as 3 percent after Reuters report that the company is likely to win a government bailout of more than $1.38 billion for 2007. [ID:nHKG89044]
* Air China (0753.HK) rose 3 percent and China Eastern (0670.HK) advanced 4 percent after Air China's parent China National Aviation Corp (Group) Ltd said it would make a counter offer for rival China Eastern if that carrier's shareholders reject a plan to sell a stake to Singapore Airlines.
