HONG KONG, July 6 (Reuters) - Chinese property developer Agile Property (3383.HK) said apartment sales for the first half of 2009 totalled 10.3 billion yuan ($1.51 billion), representing 64 percent of its annual sales target.

The developer said it sold 1.6 million square metres of apartments during the six-month period, about 70 percent of its annual target.

Earlier this year, Agile set 2009 sales targets of 16 billion yuan and 2.28 million square meters.

The company said sales in June totalled 1.2 billion yuan but it gave no comparitive figures.

Most Chinese developers posted strong growth in apartment sales during first half, thanks to government support measures and hopes that China's economy will be among the first to recover. (US$1=HK$7.75=6.832 yuan) (Reporting by Donny Kwok; Editing by Chris Lewis)
