Teva Pharm announces tentative approval of generic Valtrex

Co announces that the FDA has granted tentative approval for the co's Abbreviated New Drug Application to market its generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) antiviral product Valtrex Tablets. Final approval of this A.N.D.A is anticipated in December 2009. The brand product had annual sales of approx $1.5 bln in the United States for the twelve months ended June 30, 2007, based on IMS sales data
