FACTBOX: Security developments in Afghanistan, Aug 11

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1400 GMT on Monday:

URUZGAN - Afghan and U.S.-led forces killed 25 Taliban insurgents and eight civilians in an operation backed by air support after an ambush by the militants in southern Uruzgan province on Sunday, the U.S. military said.

KABUL - A suicide car bomb aimed at foreign forces in Kabul killed one Afghan civilian and wounded 17 more on Monday, the NATO-led force said. A small number of NATO troops were also wounded, it said.

KABUL - A roadside bomb in another part of Kabul killed a senior police officer and two of his guards, police said.

FARYAB - A remote-controlled bomb wounded 10 civilians and two soldiers from NATO-led forces in northern Faryab province on Monday, the provincial police chief said.

KHOST - A roadside bomb killed four civilians in their vehicle in southeastern Khost province on Monday, an official said.
