U.S. drone attack in Pakistan; no word on losses

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan, May 16 (Reuters) - A suspected U.S. drone aircraft fired two missiles into an al Qaeda and Taliban targets in Pakistan on the Afghan border on Saturday, intelligence officials said, but there was no immediate word on casualties.

"Two missiles were fired into Khaisor area. We are checking about casualities," an intelligence official in the North Waziristan tribal region told Reuters.

Earlier this week, eight people were killed in a similar attack in neighbouring South Waziristan. (Reporting by Haji Mujtaba; Writing by Zeeshan Haider; Editing by David Fox)
