- DECREE MAKES SATURDAY, SUNDAY FACTORY WORKING DAYS

Five ministers signed a decree on energy saving obliging manufacturers to shift work hours for two days per month to the weekend in an effort to limit power consumption and prevent blackouts. The decree will take effect on July 21.

The world's largest steel-maker, ArcelorMittal (ISPA.AS), plans to build steel factories in East Java and Banten province, the head of Indonesia's investment coordinating board, Muhammad Lutfi, said.

Indonesia's state television station, TVRI, said it will sign a memorandum of understanding with Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union for the rights to air the Beijing Olympics live and for free.

- FUEL CONSUMPTION IN 2008 SEEN 11 PCT ABOVE GOVT QUOTA

Fuel consumption in 2008 might be 11 percent higher than the government-set quota of 35.8 million kiloliters, a senior official at Indonesia's oil watchdog said.
