TABLE-Indonesia's Aug motorbike sales up 43 pct y/y

JAKARTA, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Following is Indonesia's motorcycle sales data from the Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), provided by PT Astra International Tbk (ASII.JK), the largest automotive distributor in the country.

Indonesian motorcycle sales rose 5.9 percent last year to 4.7 million units, recovering from a 12.76 percent drop in 2006 after the government more than doubled domestic fuel prices in October 2005.

Sales hit a record 5.07 million units in 2005 but dropped to 4.43 million units in 2006. Analysts and industry experts predict sales will top 5 million units this year. (Reporting by Andreas Ismar, editing by Sara Webb)
