Peabody sees patchy H2 rebound in coking coal demand

NUSA DUA, Indonesia, June 1 (Reuters) - U.S. coal miner Peabody Energy (BTU.N) expects a patchy recovery in demand for coking coal in the second half of 2009, mostly led by Asia, president director Richard Navarre told Reuters on Monday.

But Navarre also said on the sidelines of the Coaltrans conference in Bali that he did not see a significant price catalyst for coking coal in the second half and that current thermal coal prices reflected fundamentals. (Reporting by Fayen Wong; Writing by Ed Davies)
