- The time is ripe for the establishment of a Judicial Commission to handle judicial appointments and promotions of judges, the Regent of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah said.

- The Securities Commission (SC) has filed a landmark civil suit against businessman Low Thiam Hock, also known as Repco Low, and nine others over the rigging of shares in Mesdaq-listed Iris Corp Bhd (IRIB.KL), the SC said in a statement.

- Coastal Contracts Bhd (CTAL.KL) is expected to announce soon a string of shipbuilding deals worth more than 500 million ringgit ($157.4 million) which will boost its order to a record 1.5 billion ringgit, a company official said.

- QL Resources Bhd (QRES.KL), Malaysia's biggest fishball, fishcake and crabstick producer, expects to maintain profit margins in its marine business despite costlier surimi, or raw fish paste, Managing Director Chia Song Kun said.

- Highway concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd (Litrak) (LTKH.KL) is paying back 93 cents cash per share via a capital repayment and an additional seven cents cash per share interim dividend, the company said.

- Dubai Ventures Ltd, part of Dubai Investment Group, has invested $49.5 million (158.4 million ringgit) for a significant stake in Sabah-based GBD Investment Ltd, the owner of one of the largest biodiesel plants in the region, Dubai Investment Group said in a statement.

- Be prepared to pay more for noodle meals as prices of the various types of noodles will be raised by between 20 and 70 cents a kilogramme from Thursday.

- Indonesia needs around $150 billion ($1 = 3.18 ringgit) in the next three years for its infrastructure developments and aims to attract foreign investments, especially from Malaysia, to fund 90 percent of the cost, Chairman of Indonesia's Young Entrepreneurs Association, Sandiago S. Uno said.
