- TM International Bhd TMIT.KL plans to invest 11 billion ringgit in capital expenditure (capex) over the next three years to expand its operations in 10 countries, Chief Executive Jamaludin Ibrahim said.

- Veteran and new Members of Parliament from both Barisan Nasional (National Front) and Pakatan Rakyat (People's Pact) are eagerly awaiting their day in parliament, saying that they were ready to take on each other.

- TM International Bhd TMIT.KL got off to a less than auspicious start on its listing on Bursa Malaysia (BMYS.KL) on Monday but that did not take away from the optimism its directors have in the future of the company, Chairman Azman Mokhtar said.

- Pelikan International Corp Bhd (PELK.KL), a stationary maker, is in talks to buy two Chinese rivals for an estimated $200 million (632 million ringgit), Chief Executive Officer Loo Hooi Keat said.

- Cement producer Tasek Corp Bhd (TKCS.KL) is buying a building materials business from its major shareholder, Hong Leong Asia Ltd (HLA), for S$323.5 million (751.36 million ringgit) via the issuance of new shares in a related party transaction that will transform Tasek into a regional integrated building materials supplier, the company said.

- Transmile Group Bhd (TMGB.KL) may default on a total of 530 million ringgit debts in the event it fails to obtain indulgence from its lenders for the deferment of the repayment of outstanding borrowings, the air cargo operator said.

- MEMS Technology Bhd (MEMH.KL) revealed that its audited net profit for the year ended July 31, 2007 was a staggering 38.9 percent lower than its previously announced unaudited net profit for the same period, the company said.

- The wives of MPs in the previous Penang state parliament have shifted money out of a politically linked charitable fund after their husbands lost power in elections last month. The money was sent for "safekeeping" to Bakti, the federal Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

- Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi asked UMNO divisions to stop holding extraordinary general meetings to discuss the party's problems and leadership.
