Bursa Malaysia mulls tie-up with NYSE - report
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Malaysia's stock exchange operator, Bursa Malaysia (BMYS.KL), is believed to have started talks with NYSE Euronext (NYX.N), the parent of the New York Stock Exchange, on a possible tie-up, a business weekly reported.
NYSE Euronext has indicated interest in acquiring a 10 percent stake in Bursa, the Edge said in its latest edition, citing unnamed sources.
No decision has yet been made as to whether or not to sell a stake in Bursa to NYSE Euronext, the sources said. Bursa officials were not immediately available for comment.
The Edge said NYSE Euronext was keen to forge a working partnership with Bursa, which could include cross offerings of products for trade on different exchanges.
Bursa is currently in talks with Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) on a possible collaboration. Bursa said last month that CME was not seeking to buy a stake in it.
