 -- Cargo surveyors Intertek Testing Services and Societe
Generale de Surveillance unveil June 1-15 Malaysian palm oil
export data at 9.00am and 2.30pm (0100 and 0630) respectively.
 -- Reuters to issue May consumer price index MYCCPI=ECI
poll.
 -- Parliament in session from June 15 to June 30. No major
bills at this point. Starts from 10.00am (0200) onwards.
 -- Economic Planning Minister Minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop
visits Selangor Human Resource Development Centre in Shah Alam
at 4.00pm (0800).
 -- Malaysian Airline (MASM.KL) stock starts trading after
suspension and Q1 loss at 9.00am (0100).
 -- Scomi Group (SCOI.KL) holds annual general meeting at
Sime Darby Convention centre at 2.00pm (0600).
 -- Asiatic Development ASIA.KL holds annual general
meeting at Wisma Genting at 10.00am (0200).
 MARKET SNAPSHOTS
 * Malaysia's benchmark stock index may rise on Monday in line
with gains seen on Wall Street last Friday, with ample
liquidity expected to fuel the recent buying momentum. [.KLSE]
 * "We are optimistic on the outlook for the Malaysian equity
market," said the research unit of CIMB Investment Bank.
 * "We have been on a roadshow to Europe this week and the
response has been very good. Most of the funds are very light
on Malaysia and are keen to increase their weightings since it
has lagged other regional markets," it said in its weekly
note.
 * Shares of Malaysia Airlines (MASM.KL) are expected to come
under pressure after the national carrier reported its first
quarterly loss in two-and-half years, hit by overcapacity,
volatile fuel prices and a global economic downturn.

 * The Dow moved into positive territory for the year for the
first time since early January on Friday, lifted by defensive
sectors like pharmaceuticals while a disappointing outlook from
National Semiconductor (NSM.N) weighed on technology
stocks.[.N]
 * Oil fell on Friday, dragged from eight-month highs as the
dollar firmed and players took profits from a three-day rally.

 * Malaysian palm oil futures closed lower for a second
straight day on Friday as worries over weak exports and a
retreat in rival soybean and crude oil prices prompted long

 ASIA MARKETS NEWS - Asian stocks are seen opening flat on
Monday, as U.S. investors shifted to more defensive holdings
and mixed data hit sentiment. [STXNEWS/AS] - Most Asian
currencies posted modest gains against the dollar on Friday,
with the Indian rupee leading the pack, as investors bought
stocks, but the high-yielding Indonesian rupiah came under
selling pressure [EMRG/FRX] - Southeast Asian stock markets
ended mixed on Friday, with lender DBS Group and developer
Keppel Land pushing Singapore down for a second day, while
bourses in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand inched higher.
