Polish president says signing EU treaty "pointless"
WARSAW, July 1 (Reuters) - Polish President Lech Kaczynski will not sign the European Union's reforming treaty for now because the Irish rejection made it "pointless", he said in a newspaper interview on Tuesday.
Asked by the daily Dziennin if he would sign the treaty -- the last step needed for full ratification in Poland after both chambers of the parliament backed it -- Kaczynski said: "This is now pointless." (Writing by Gabriela Baczynska; Editing by Giles Elgood)
