NEW YORK (Reuters) - Peyton Manning passed for four touchdowns to lift the Indianapolis Colts to a 28-25 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in an AFC South showdown on Sunday.

The win all but assured the Colts (10-2) of their fifth consecutive divisional title. Jacksonville slipped to 8-4.

"It sure feels good to get this win," Manning told reporters. "We knew it was going to be a big game."

Manning was especially pleased with the number of third-down conversions by the offense that kept the Colts' depleted defense off the field.

"We just kind of had a resilience to stay on the field," he said. "Defensively, we've got a lot of injuries so we tried to do our part to keep them off the field."

Manning, who completed 20 of 29 passes for 288 yards, has 23 touchdown passes for the season.

He connected with Dallas Clark on a five-yard scoring pass to open the game and gave the Colts a 14-0 first-quarter lead with a 48-yard toss to Reggie Wayne. Wayne finished with eight catches for 158 yards.

Clark caught his second TD pass from Manning, a 14-yarder, with six seconds left in the first half as Indianapolis gained a 21-7 advantage.

Jacksonville rallied on a two-yard touchdown pass from David Garrard to Marcedes Lewis in the third quarter and Josh Scobee's 47-yard field goal to pull with 21-17 in the fourth.

Manning then got his fourth touchdown pass with a one-yard shovel pass to fullback Luke Lawton to put the Colts 28-17 ahead.

Garrard threw 17 yards to Dennis Northcutt and ran for the two-point conversion to bring Jacksonville within three but the Colts hung on.

    STUNNING LOSS

    * Rian Lindell kicked a 36-yard field goal with four seconds left to give the Buffalo Bills (6-6) a 17-16 road victory over the Washington Redskins, who were playing their first game since the death of safety Sean Taylor.

The Redskins (5-7) started with 10 players on defense to honor Taylor, who died after being shot in the groin during a robbery at his home.

*Miami rookie quarterback John Beck was intercepted three times as the New York Jets (3-9) handed the winless Dolphins their 12th consecutive loss, 40-13.

*Ben Roethlisberger passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Hines Ward caught both of Roethlisberger's TD passes as Pittsburgh improved to 9-3.

    * LaDainian Tomlinson ran for 177 yards and two touchdowns and the San Diego Chargers (7-5) grabbed the AFC West lead with a 24-10 road win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The loss was the fifth in a row for the Chiefs (4-8).

    * Linebacker Lofa Tatupu had three interceptions and the Seattle Seahawks (8-4) gained a 28-24 road win over the Philadelphia Eagles (5-7), who were missing starting quarterback Donovan McNabb. Replacement A.J. Feeley was intercepted four times, Tatupu picking off Feeley at the four-yard line with 23 seconds to secure the win.

    * Adrian Peterson returned from injury and rushed for two touchdowns and 116 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' third consecutive victory, a 42-10 home win over the Detroit Lions -- who lost their fourth in a row. Both teams are 6-6.

    * The Carolina Panthers snapped a seven-game home losing streak with a 31-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

    * Two fourth-quarter touchdowns gave the New York Giants (8-4) a 21-16 road win over the Chicago Bears (5-7).
