LONDON, June 3 (Reuters) - UK mortgage lobby group the Council of Mortgage Lenders on Tuesday named Richard Brown from Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I) as its acting chairman.

Steven Crawshaw this week stepped down as CML chairman and from his position as chief executive of Bradford & Bingley BB.L for health reasons.

Brown is responsible for Bristol & West and Bank of Ireland mortgages as managing director of personal lending at BoI. He was one of the deputy chairmen of the CML which represents banks and other lenders, who undertake almost all UK home loans.
