    Pirates dismiss manager Tracy

    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Pittsburgh Pirates fired manager Jim Tracy on Friday after two miserable seasons at the National League club.

    The 51-year-old had one year left of his $3.2 million, three-year contract.

    Senior director of player development Brian Graham, senior director of scouting Ed Creech and director of baseball operations Jon Mercurio were also fired.

    "I have come to the difficult conclusion that to transform the culture and to chart the course for future success these changes needed to be made," general manager Neal Huntington said in a statement.

    Under Tracy's guidance the Pirates were 67-95 and 68-94, extending their streak of consecutive losing seasons to 15.

    Tracy, who also managed the Los Angeles Dodgers for five seasons (2001-2005), has a career record of 562-572.
