UBM and Informa confirm they are in merger talks

LONDON, June 8 (Reuters) - Britain's United Business Media (UBM.L) and Informa (INF.L) said on Sunday that they are in the early stages of talks regarding an all-share merger between the two media companies.

Informa said it had received an approach from UBM about the proposal and is now in preliminary discussions with UBM, while both groups said there can be no certainty that the proposed transaction will proceed. (Reporting by David Jones)
