    Pavarotti in "satisfactory condition": hospital

    ROME (Reuters) - Opera superstar Luciano Pavarotti, who was hospitalized earlier this week, is in a satisfactory condition and is likely to be discharged in the next few days, a hospital spokesman said on Thursday.

    Pavarotti was admitted to hospital in his home town of Modena, northern Italy, on Wednesday with a fever, the spokesman said. A newspaper report on Thursday said the singer, who had surgery to remove a pancreatic tumor last year, was suffering from pneumonia.
