French M6 in exclusive talks to buy web publisher

PARIS (Reuters) - French commercial TV broadcaster M6 said on Monday it has started exclusive talks to buy web publisher Cyrealis for an undisclosed amount.

With the acquisition of Cyrealis, which mainly runs three editorial websites on high tech, video games and e-business, M6 would join the group of the 15 most-consulted websites in France, the statement said.

Last week, M6 Chairman Nicolas de Tavernost had said M6 planned a mid-sized acquisition in the Internet sector.

M6's Internet offerings already combine specialized websites linked to the Group's TV channels, e-commerce websites including Mistergooddeal acquired in 2005, and community websites.
