Israeli minister hails killing of Hezbollah leader

Wed Feb 13, 2008 5:41am EST
JERUSALEM, Feb 13 (Reuters) - An Israeli cabinet minister hailed the killing of Hezbollah commander Imad Moughniyah but said on Wednesday he did not know who was behind the attack, which the movement blamed on the Jewish state.

"I, of course, do not know who carried out the assassination of Imad, but he should be blessed," said Environment Minister Gideon Ezra, who was previously a senior intelligence officer.

The comment was the first by a member of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's government.
