(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 2230 GMT on Sunday:

* BAGHDAD - A U.S. soldier was killed on Saturday after an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during a patrol near Baghdad, the military said in a statement on Sunday.

BAGHDAD - Ten people were killed and 25 wounded by a car bomb parked near a busy square in the mainly Shi'ite Jadriya district of central Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Twenty two bodies were found dumped in different parts of Baghdad on Sunday, police said.

BAGHDAD - One person killed and one wounded in a drive-by shooting in the mainly Sunni Adil district of west Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Roadside bomb detonated near the vehicle convoy of Sunni politician Adnan al-Dulaimi in Baghdad but no one hurt, his office said.

MOSUL - Four bodies found dumped in the northern city of Mosul, police said.

NASSIRIYA - Gunmen killed four policemen in the southern city of Nassiriya, police said.

PANJWIN - Seven Kurdish border guards killed in an ambush near the Iranian border in attack blamed on al Qaeda-linked militants, police and a local official said.

BAGHDAD - Eight bodies found in the Washash district of west Baghdad, police said. They had been tortured and shot.

MOSUL - One Iraqi policeman killed and another wounded by a roadside bomb in the northern city of Mosul, police said.

AZIZIYAH - Gunmen shot dead the wife and 8-year-old son of the mayor of Aziziyah, a predominately Shi'ite town 55 km (35 miles) southeast of Baghdad, police said.

BAIJI - A truck driver was killed by a roadside bomb targeting his petrol tanker near the oil refinery of Baiji, north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 13 suspected militants in operations in the region around Baghdad on Saturday and Sunday, the military said.

TAL AFAR - Two civilians were killed and three wounded by a roadside bomb in Tal Afar, 420 km north of Baghdad, police said.

TAL AFAR - An Iraqi policeman was killed and another wounded when their patrol in Tal Afar was ambushed, police said.

BAGHDAD - Twenty-one bodies were found dumped in different parts of the capital on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said.

FALLUJA - A former lieutenant colonel in the old Iraqi army was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in front of his home near the western city of Falluja, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 13 suspected insurgents in raids around the capital on Friday, the military said on Sunday.

LATIFIYA - U.S. forces detained 46 suspected militants during a raid on Thursday near Latifiya 40 km south of Baghdad, the military said on Sunday.
