LONDON, July 1 (Reuters) - Asia-focused bank Standard Chartered (STAN.L) (2888.HK) will name acting chairman John Peace as its chairman, the Times reported in its Thursday edition.

The paper said an announcement confirming Peace's appointment, who has been acting as chairman since the departure of Lord Davies in January, could come as early as Thursday.

Peace is also chairman of Burberry (BRBY.L) and Experian (EXPN.L) and has reportedly been short-listed to replace Philip Hampton as chairman of supermarket group J Sainsbury (SBRY.L).

No-one at Standard Chartered in London was immediately available to comment. (Reporting by Victoria Bryan, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
