MICROGEN ENDS SCISYS TALKS

Microgen (MCGN.L), the information management software group, has withdrawn from takeover talks with SciSys (SSY.L), the IT consultancy in which it has built up a 12.9 percent stake making it the third-largest shareholder.

Microgen said it was still interested in working with SciSys, which said that although Microgen's proposal was not in shareholders' best interests it looked forward "to further positive collaboration on joint projects".

Shares in Microgen closed unchanged at 47.5 pence, while SciSys's shares closed down seven pence at 43 pence. Prepared for Reuters by Durrants ($1=1.011 Canadian Dollar)
