London-based brewer SABMiller (SAB.L) has reported its South African business, consisting of Castle and Amstel brands, is to be investigated over allegations of anti-competitive practices, by South Africa's competition commission, which wants to refer the brewer to the Competition Tribunal. Allegations include the prescribing of selling prices to distributors and allowing discounts to preferred customers. Analysts suggest an unfavourable ruling could hurt the brewer's ability to generate profits. SABMiller has denied the allegations.

NETELLER BOSSES SET TO APPEAR IN NEW YORK COURT

Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre, the founders of Neteller NLR.L, who have been arrested over allegations of laundering billions of dollars for internet gambling companies, will enter their pleas in the next few days. Both men have recently received bail of 2.5 million pounds after being charged by US attorneys with helping to transfer illegal gambling proceeds from US citizens to internet gambling companies. If convicted, each man could face up to 20 years in jail. The arrests have forced Neteller to quit its business operations in the US.
