MADRID, Sept 3 (Reuters) - The following Spanish stocks may be affected by newspaper reports and other factors on Wednesday. Reuters has not verified the newspaper reports, and cannot vouch for their accuracy:

COLONIAL (COL.MC), BANCO POPULAR (POP.MC)

Banco Popular has no plans to subscribe to any possible share issue by Spain's Colonial as the struggling property company seeks to refinance 8.9 billion euros ($12.9 billion) of debt.

The Spanish lender was responding to a Reuters story, which cited a person familiar with the situation, as saying Colonial was moving towards a debt restructuring deal that could include a cash injection from shareholders and the sale of some assets.
