"I have some wonderful news to report," the 14-times major champion told his website (www.tigerwoods.com) Tuesday. "Elin and I are proud to announce we are expecting our second child in late winter."

The couple's first baby, daughter Sam Alexis, was born on June 18, 2007.

Woods has been out of action since winning the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, California in June.

The 32-year-old American will be sidelined for at least the rest of the year after undergoing reconstructive knee surgery.
