Nokia Siemens wins Indonesia network deal
HELSINKI (Reuters) - Nokia Siemens Networks NSN.UL said on Monday it had won a telecoms network expansion order from Hutchison CP Telecommunications Indonesia (HCPT), without disclosing the value of the deal.
Nokia Siemens said it would expand the operator's GSM/WCDMA network coverage in the islands of Java and Sumatra, implementing 2,800 base stations and roll out GSM core networks in Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
Hong Kong's Hutchison controls 60 percent of HCPT while Thailand's Charoen Pokphand holds the remaining 40 percent.
Nokia Siemens Networks, a joint venture of Nokia (NOK1V.HE) and Siemens (SIEGn.DE), said the deliveries would start next month and it would continue to work with HCPT on the carrier's major expansion plans over the next three years across all the islands.
"This contract supplements HCPT's first network contract with Siemens Indonesia in 2005," Nokia Siemens said.
