Russia ready to drop wood export duties: Finnish TV

HELSINKI (Reuters) - Russia and the European Union are close to an agreement on Russian wood export duties, Finnish national broadcaster Yle said on its Web site on Friday.

Yle said Russia was ready to drop the duties once it was accepted as a member in the World Trade Organization (WTO), Yle said, but cited no sources.

Yle also said the EU's initial reaction to the proposal was positive.
