COPENHAGEN, March 27 (Reuters) - Danish brewer Carlsberg (CARLb.CO) said on Thursday it was in talks to sell its 95.65 percent stake in Turkish unit Turk Tuborg (TBORG.IS) to Israel-based Central Bottling Company Group (CBC).

The Danish brewer said in a statement privately held CBC, its partner in Romania and Israel, had indicated an interest in buying Carlsberg's stake and that a Memorandum of Understanding had been signed.

Shares in Turk Tuborg were up 16.5 percent to 1.98 Turkish Lira.

Details of the transaction are still subject to discussion and final agreement, Carlsberg said, adding a further announcement would be made in due course.

Carlsberg Group gained a majority share in Turk Tuborg in 2001. The brewery is Turkey's second-largest with a market share of 16.5 percent, Carlsberg said.
