Nokia to buy software firm Trolltech for $153 million
HELSINKI (Reuters) - The world's top cellphone maker Nokia (NOK1V.HE) has agreed to offer 843 million Norwegian crowns ($153.3 million) for software firm Trolltech TROLL.OL to support its new push to services and software operations.
Nokia said on Monday it would offer 16 crowns for each share in Norway's software firm, compared with Trolltech shares closing price of 10 crowns on Friday.
Nokia said holders of 35,024,830 shares, representing approximately 66.43 percent of Trolltech's issued shares and votes have agreed to accept the offer.
Nokia said it expected the offer to be completed in the second quarter.
