Genmab starts study for colorectal cancer drug

COPENHAGEN, May 30 (Reuters) - Danish biotech firm Genmab (GEN.CO) said on Monday it has started a Phase I/II study with its HuMax-EGFr experimental drug for the treatment of colorectal cancer.

The drug, also known as zalutumumab, will be studied in combination with irinotecan chemotherapy on up to 97 patients who have failed standard chemotherapy.

The company did not say when it expected to complete the study. (Reporting by Gelu Sulugiuc; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
