Slovenia gets no bids for 10 pct of Telekom
LJUBLJANA, Dec 3 (Reuters) - The Slovenian government's investment fund SOD said on Wednesday it had not received any bids for the 10 percent of Slovenian telecoms operator Telekom (TLSG.LJ) it put up for sale.
"We received no bids in a tender for 10 percent of Telekom, which expired today," SOD said in a statement.
In November, SOD decided to sell a share in Telekom due to its financial needs. Currently the government and its investment funds own 74.13 percent of Telekom, of which 14.21 percent is in the hands of SOD.
Telekom Slovenia, which is Slovenia's second-largest listed company with market capitalisation of some 1 billion euros ($1.26 billion), is the leading fixed-line, mobile and internet provider in the country of some 2 million people.
In March, the government cancelled the sale of 49.13 percent of Telekom, saying the bids were too low. The final two bidders, Britain's BT Global Services, a division of BT Group (BT.L), with Bain Capital and Axos Capital, and Iceland's Skipti each offered 400 euros per share.
Since then the share prices has fallen in line with moves on the global markets. On Wednesday, Telekom shares gained 1.62 percent to 148.67 euros while the blue-chip SBI index held steady. (Reporting by Manca Ulcar; Editing by Jon Loades-Carter)
