LONDON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - British speciality drug company BTG (BGC.L) said on Thursday first-half revenue rose 59 percent as it reaped the benefits of its acquisition of biotech firm Protherics.

The company made revenue of 47.9 million pounds ($78.90 million) compared with 30.2 million in the same period last year, as it added sales from Protherics' marketed portfolio of anti-poison drugs to its line of royalty generating products.

However its earnings before tax fell to 2.4 million pounds from 3.4 million last time, following an 11.3 million pounds loss at the full year, as it was stung by reorganisation costs associated with Protherics, which it bought last year in a $390 million deal. [ID:nLI313943]
