UK's EDF Energy ups power price 17 pct, gas 22 pct

LONDON, July 25 (Reuters) - UK energy supplier EDF Energy has raised its power prices by 17 percent and its gas prices by 22 percent, effective immediately, the company said on Friday.

"Record wholesale energy costs have forced EDF Energy to increase its electricity prices by 17% and its gas prices by 22% (1) from today," the company said in a statement.
