ZURICH, Aug 5 (Reuters) - U.S. health authorities have lifted the ban on Swiss dental implant maker Straumann's(STMN.S) Biora products, the company said on Tuesday.

The import detention on Biora products, which has been in place since the beginning of 2007, was lifted following a re-inspection of the group's Biora facility in Sweden by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), the world's second largest maker of dental implants said.

"As a result Straumann can now supply its range of oral tissue regeneration products to dental professionals and their patients in the U.S. again," the group said.

Straumann had originally expected the ban to be lifted earlier but said in April the product might be on sale again in the third quarter after the FDA had scheduled an inspection of the production site for the end of May.

Analysts have been concerned that a further delay might hit the company's sales growth in the United States, where Straumann has long been lagging the world's largest dental implant maker, Nobel Biocare.(NOBN.VX)

Straumann is due to release first-half year results on Thursday. (Reporting by Sven Egenter; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
