BRIEF-TGS-Nopec starts seismic survey off Liberia

OSLO, Oct 7 (Reuters) - TGS-Nopec Geophysical ASA (TGS.OL) said on Tuesday:

* It has started a multi-client offshore seismic survey of about 9,000 square kilometers offshore Liberia, covering a number of blocks recently awarded by the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) and has achieved a high level of pre-funding.

* Additional planned phases could increase the size of the programme significantly by the end of 2009. (Reporting by Wojciech Moskwa)
